Narberth is Going Single Stream

Borough Council awarded a three-year contract for the collection of garbage, recycling, and leaves to Advanced Disposal at its December 7th meeting. Garbage will be picked up on Mondays and recycling on Thursdays. In the event of a major holiday, pick up will take place the following day. Leaves and brush will be picked up once a month on the fourth Thursday.

The Borough will be switching to single stream recycling, meaning there is no longer a need to separate paper from other recyclable materials. It can all be put in a single receptacle and picked up the same day, once a week.

In awarding this contract, Council reduces collection costs by 4.8% and will pass those savings through to taxpayers’ solid waste fees. We will update our trash and recycling page with more information in the coming weeks.
